/24-7PressRelease/ -- Negris LeBrum LLC and Honorary Chair Gordon Quan (Former Mayor Pro Tem) invites the people of Houston to the 1st annual Unity and Friendship Soiree celebration. The day for Unity and Friendship is February 27th 2011 however; the Unity and Friendship Soiree will take place on February 26th, 2011 from 6:30pm to 9:30pm at the Mosaic Towers located on Almeda at McGregor. The Unity and Friendship art exhibit will be on display during the event. This exhibit will display paintings and sculptures from a diverse group of artists highlighting unity, friendship, and peace through their work. The talking points for the event are: Unity, Friendship, Peace, and healing America's youth. This national campaign is designed to promote awareness and utilize intervention methods against youth and adolescence violence in all communities. Unity and Friendship is the foundation for building relationships, communication, and world peace. As we embark on to this historical campaign, we are asking that all Americans "Live for Unity".
The national Unity & Friendship Day campaign was created in January 2010. The campaign later received the Congressional Proclamation of Recognition from Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, 18th Congressional District in Houston, TX on February 27th, proclaiming this day as Unity & Friendship Day.
The following public officials have endorsed the Unity and Friendship Day campaign: Texas Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, then New York Governor David Paterson, Alabama Governor Robert Bently, Texas State Senator Rodney Ellis, California State Senator Rod Wright and Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Los Angeles Sheriff Leroy D. Baca.
In recognition of the campaign, Negris LeBrum LLC has developed a custom bracelet that serves as the symbol of unity. The Unity & Friendship ambassador, will direct the bracelet exchange ceremony amongst the guest
