/24-7PressRelease/ - NEWBURGH, NY, January 11, 2007 - The Business Marketing Association of the Hudson Valley (BMA-HV) will hold its January meeting at the Ship Lantern Inn, on Route 9W in Milton, at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 30. As fiscal responsibility and business budgeting are always at the forefront of everyone's mind at the beginning of the new year, BMA-HV has invited accounting guru Rief Kanan to share with attendees his tips about the best ways to get off on the right foot regarding budget concerns.
Says Bud Clarke, BMA-HV President, "Creating a budget that is tight enough to generate profits but loose enough to allow for growth is crucial to the success of any business. That's why we decided to start the year off right and have Rief Kanan address budget issues right off the bat. Once we have an understanding of the ways in which our business budgets can support our projected growth, we can move on to other matters."
Professor Rief Kanan is a CPA and faculty member of the School of Business at SUNY, New Paltz. He is the principal author of the college's 150-hour CPA licensure qualifying program leading to the MBA degree. In addition to teaching, he has worked in public accounting, corporate auditing and accounting, corporate management and has been involved in entrepreneurial activities in real estate and retail businesses. He is also the overseer of three "think tanks" comprised of CEOs and company presidents who work to develop innovative business strategies in association with the international organization known as Vistage International.
Interested marketing professionals and those involved in marketing decision-making who wish to learn more about BMA-HV are encouraged to attend the January 30th meeting. The registration fee, which includes dinner, is $30 for members, $35 for chamber affiliates, $45 for non-members.
