Sweet Swap", donated Halloween candy will be sent overseas as a treat for the troops, while attendees earn prizes and enjoy the famous Bubble Truck.
"We wanted to do something nice for household with too much candy and for our soldiers overseas," said
Dr. Christian Hahn, who practices cosmetic and
advanced restorative dentistry. "Instead of throwing out that candy, you can come visit us and take home something nice." In addition to coloring books, stickers and other prizes for children, everyone bringing in a bag of candy will also be entered in a drawing to win a new iPod Shuffle.
Ideal Dentistry will also host a special appearance by the Bubble Truck, a modified Dodge Ram pickup truck with an assortment of colorful ornaments which create thousands of bubbles of various sizes. Children can create their own bubbles with wands, operate the truck's bubble-makers and play in the "Bubble Wall."
Every visitor who donates candy will also receive a discount certificate for dental services. A child's exam, four X-rays and a cleaning will be just $50. For adults, the same service package is just $85.
It might sound like an unusual combination, but Hahn said that Halloween candy and your dentist go together perfectly at the Sweet Swap. "Children love Halloween candy, but it's a real treat for our overseas troops who may want a taste of home," he said. "The Sweet Swap allows children to donate something that will be appreciated, collect some gifts, enjoy the
Bubble Truck and maybe even win an iPod. And parents will enjoy some discounts on
ideal dental care as well. It's going to be a great event."
