/24-7PressRelease/ -- L&L Racing Engines of Oxford, Michigan goes drag racing in Illinois with their Top Dragster this weekend June 12th - 14th, to Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, Illinois. This is the teams' fifth race of the season, third NHRA drag racing event in Division 3.
They started the season as #1 qualifier with a 6.751 second quarter mile elapsed time at Maryland Raceway in Budds Creek, MD, an IHRA PRO-AM DIV 1 event. Their hand built naturally aspirated 638 cubic inch custom Chevy race engine is pumping out 1,275 horsepower and 990 ft-lbs of torque. The team is currently in 18th place out of 61 teams with 5 races remaining in the division schedule. The team is 95 points behind leader, James Monroe. You can read about their past race events on their blog site, landlracingengines.wordpress.com.
L & L Racing Engines plans on using this Illinois drag racing weekend to move towards the front of the divisional standings with wins in the elimination rounds. Unfortunately, they have not passed the second round of eliminations this season. Hopefully, the testing they conducted two weeks ago at US131 Motorsports Park in Martin, Michigan will pay off. Go to their racing blog to see the results from their test session.
L&L Racing Engines will arrive Thursday evening in time for Friday's qualifying session. The weather forecast for this Illinois drag racing event shows sunshine with patchy clouds in the mid to high 70's; with potential rain Friday and Saturday night and temperatures in the mid 50's. So, bring your sunscreen and rain gear.
