/24-7PressRelease/ - TEMPE, AZ, June 16, 2008 - For the third year in a row, the Arizona Chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) has participated in the KAET-TV Public Broadcasting Services pledge drive. On June 7, 2008, nine members from the Valley of the Sun IMA provided services to take telephone pledges in support of KAET-TV PBS.
"Community services is an important part of the IMA mission," said Cheryl Brock, community services director for the Valley of the Sun IMA. "The Pledge Drive is one element in our overall volunteer and community outreach program. This was a fun event for the volunteers and a great fund-raiser for KAET-TV." The volunteers worked for 5 hours and helped raise over $10,000.
The Valley of the Sun IMA also participates in a Food Drive for the Interfaith Cooperative Ministries, American Cancer Society fund-raiser "Climb to Conquer Cancer," the Arizona Bighorn Sheep auction/fund-raiser, and the Angler's United auction/fund-raiser. In 2008/2009, the Valley of the Sun IMA plans to go beyond charitable and non-profit organizations by providing business seminars for small businesses as part of their community service outreach program.
