Dr. Koh serves the discipline of orthopedic surgery in Republic of Korea as a professor and practicing physician with the department of surgery at St. Paul's Hospital, located in the nation's capital city of Seoul. He performs medical procedures with the division of knee surgery at the hospital, and teaches with the affiliated orthopedic surgery department at the college of medicine at the Catholic University of Korea. Dr. Koh is an award-winning voice in the Korean orthopedic community, and is well regarded as an excellent reviewer of his peers as well as a frequent contributor in industry conventions.
Born in the Republic of Korea, Dr. Koh studied with the Catholic University of Korea to earn a Doctorate, followed by a Master of Science and PhD with the university. He served as a doctor with the medical corps of the Korean Navy, and initially went on to work with Seoul St. Mary's Hospital as a clinical assistant professor. Dr. Koh focused on orthopedic surgery, and transitioned to a role with the Uijeongbu St. Mary's Hospital as well. Both hospitals are affiliated with his alma mater, the Catholic University of Korea, and he was ultimately recognized for his service to the university with the role of assistant professor.
Dr. Koh is a contributor to numerous medical groups, and is an international member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He supports the Korean Arthroscopy Society, the Korean Knee Society, the Academic Committee of the Korean Knee Society, the the Korean Orthopedic Association, and the Korean Medical Association. As a prolific reviewer in the science of medicine, Dr. Koh contributes to the reviewing committees of Knee Surgery and Related Research and the Journal of the Korean Orthopaedic Association, as well as the insurance committee of the Korean Knee Society.
Dr. Koh was recognized for medical excellence with a Best Reviewer honor from the Journal of Korean Medical Science in 2017, a Best Poster Award from the Korean Orthopedics Association in 2015, Best Poster Awards from the Korean Knee Society in 2014 and 2015, a 2014 Poster Award from the Arthoplasty Society in Asia, and a Best Paper distinction from the Korean Arthoscopy Society in 2009. He continues to serve patients and fellow doctors from the capital city of Seoul to this day.
