ST. CHARLES, MO, May 09, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- In an effort to create a more inclusive community, ten area nonprofits have joined forces to create the first-ever Hollywood Dash which will take place on July 25, 2015 at the St. Charles Community College. The evening celebration includes a one-mile race followed by entertainment and a family movie. People from all walks of life and all ability levels are encouraged to attend.

"For one night, we all get to shine a spotlight on the diversity in our community," says Tony Bryan of The Center for Autism Education, one of the hosting organizations. "That diversity includes people with cognitive and development disabilities such as autism, cerebral palsy and Down syndrome. In addition to The Center for Autism Education, the other hosting organizations include: Caring Solutions, Community Living, F.A.C.T., Pathways to Independence, Recreation Council of Greater St. Louis, St. Louis Life, ShowMe Aquatics & Fitness, TREEHouse of Greater St. Louis and Willows Way.

The evening will kick off with a one-mile dash for people of all ability levels - from competitive runners to walkers and rollers. Then a celebration area will feature family activities including Knights of Columbus clowns, photo booth and an interactive bubble truck. The evening culminates with the outdoor showing of a feature film. More details about the specifics for the event will be released in the early summer.
