LONDON, UK November 22, 2009
/24-7PressRelease/ -- In order to qualify for the quality mark, law firms must perform strongly in Legal Week's flagship Employee Satisfaction Report and agree to work with Legal Week's research arm, Legal Week Intelligence, to ensure they make full use of the research in order to continue to improve their employee satisfaction levels.
The independent report is based on feedback from more than 4,000 assistant and associate solicitors working at the UK's leading firms. It ranks more than 50 firms across a range of performance measures including quality of work, work/life balance, salary and bonus.
Ince & Co had a very good year in 2009, taking 12th place overall and 3rd in London with a LWI score of 2038. Although Ince had a slightly higher LWI score in 2008 of 2042, they were only 6th in London and 23rd overall.
Ince scores well above average in the reality of associates' work/life balance (7.6); quality of work (9.0); billable hours (8.4) and partnership prospects (7.6). Ince employees also appear happier than most about their pay where they score a 7.8 and their quality of clients (8.5). A weak point appears to be communication in all its guises.
Performance feedback is a problem with a score of 6.2 and there are low scores for openness of career communication and internal communications. However, there have been few redundancies and the firm's reputation has been enhanced as a result of how they have dealt with the downturn.
Ince lawyers are very likely to recommend their firm to a friend or colleague. They score this 8.5. Only 2% are actively looking for a job elsewhere compared to a survey-wide average of 13%.
