/24-7PressRelease/ -- The Independence Visitor Center is pleased to introduce the "Especially for Teachers" section of the Independence Visitor Center website. This new section details lesson plans and activities for teachers to plan their class trips - or for assistance with lessons in the classroom. Teachers can find everything from detailed itineraries to information on where to park, eat and shop.
The "Especially for Teachers" section features seven subject themes that are divided into four categories: History, Economics, Geography and Civics. Lesson titles within these categories range from "Creation of a New Nation" to "Becoming a Good Citizen".

"Especially for Teachers" was created as a result of a $10,000 grant from the Verizon Foundation. In the business of improving lives in literacy, knowledge and readiness for the 21st Century, the Verizon Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Verizon Communications. The Independence Visitor Center, located at 6th & Market Streets, across from the Liberty Bell, provides the region's best event and attraction information to visitors and locals alike about Independence National Historical Park, the City of Philadelphia and the countryside.
