RED BANK, NJ, December 22, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- New Jersey-based musician Dw. Dunphy has released the track "Everything Goes To Hell" on Bandcamp.com. All proceeds from the purchase of the track will be donated to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. As of December 21, the song has been streamed over 1,200 times.

Dunphy explains that the song emerged from longstanding relationships with three other musicians, Jeff Elbel (Ping, Farewell To Juliet), Randy Kerkman (Yonderboy, Beki Hemingway), and Dan Pavelich (The Bradburys, The Click Beetles). "This wound up being an international recording. Jeff is located in Chicago; Dan lives in Kenosha, where he currently writes and draws the comic strip Just Say Uncle; and Randy is living in Ireland, presently."

After recording a basic backing track with rhythm guitar, drums, and vocals, Dunphy decided the song could become more than what it initially was. "It needed a proper bassline," Dunphy said. "I usually will add that on the keyboard or a down-tuned guitar, but the song's potential was clear. So, I asked Jeff if he would do it and, thankfully, he said yes."

"I knew Dan could offer a greater palette of keyboard and piano sound and proficiency than I could. I was encouraged by the response I was getting for the song, so I asked Dan," Dunphy added. "He took time away from working on the Just Say Uncle comic strip and added in a great piano run."

Kerkman's contribution occurred after a conversation on Facebook Messenger: "I mentioned this song was coming together and he asked, 'Do you think I can take a crack at it with a guitar line?' Knowing Randy is a first-class guitar player, I'd have been foolish to say no. He brought so much extra energy to the track."

While the title of the song doesn't seem to lend itself to being a benefit for a charity like St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Dunphy disagrees. "When everyone jumped on board to be a part of the song, I knew something more substantial needed to happen with it. Knowing the kind of despair that a parent might feel when they're given a diagnosis that their child has cancer - and that they cannot afford to pay for treatment - it feels like everything is falling apart. St. Jude's has been a friend to these families for so long. Everything about the creation of the song has seemed serendipitous. I asked the guys if they'd be okay with this plan, and they were all enthusiastic."

"Everything Goes To Hell" will be on sale as a benefit to St. Jude's Children's Hospital until the end of February 2018. It can be found at: https://coopcommunique.bandcamp.com/track/everything-goes-to-hell
