Indie Fest USA 2008 presents its second annual film festival at Downtown Disney this week.
This week at Downtown Disney, Indie Fest USA will let outsiders seize the opportunity to take an exclusive inside look at the motion picture industry at Indie Fest USA 2008's second annual international film festival.

    /24-7PressRelease/ - ALHAMBRA, CA, August 08, 2008 - Showcasing the work of independent filmmakers, directors, producers, cinematographers, and celebrities from around the world, this year's film festival is open to the general public, featuring not only a great selection on the big screen, but also presenting a variety of networking opportunities with seminars, key notes, and workshops throughout the week.

The Indie Fest USA 2008 Film Festival films will be screened in AMC Downtown Disney, presenting 63 feature films and shorts from the USA and all around the world. To list a few, feature films include Richard Kaponas' "Ranchero," Chapin Hemmingway's "Last September, Brock Johnsen's WWII Men of the Pacific, Robert Bruce's "From Kilimanjaro with Love," and David Dietrich's "Divine Unrest." Also screening are blocks of short films including Helen Andre's "The Hope Ruby," Kalani Queypo's "Ancestor Eyes," Adam Brown's "Starsearcher," Stan Herrington's "It's All A Game," and Tim Bellen's "State of Grace." From films such as Banjong Pisanthanakun's Thai horror feature film "Alone" to Soo He Han's 3D animation short "First Memories," Indie Fest USA 2008 Film Festival presents a diversity of films not only in country, but also in genre, making it the best event in the independent film industry.

In addition to film screenings, Indie Fest USA offers the opportunity to explore, educate, and entertain with daily seminars, key notes from top industry executives, and workshops. Seminars and workshops include "Independent Distribution: Taking online sales into your own hands," presented by a panel including the founders of Magic Rock Entertainment, "So You Want To Make An Action Film?" and "The Brass Ring. Why We Make Movies," featuring award winning director, filmmaker, and martial arts teacher Kely McClung. Opening night keynote is special guest speaker Stan Harrington, award winning director and filmmaker and author of "Guerilla in the Midst."

The weeklong event will kick off with an opening night party and reception and end with an awards ceremony, where winners in categories such as Best of Festival, Best Feature Film, Best Foreign Language Film, among many other categories, will share in a fantastic prize pool and receive non-exclusive DVD distribution as a collection or individually. Selected filmmakers in attendance will enter a drawing for a new Panasonic AG- HVX200 HD camera package worth $8,500. All attending filmmakers with films in the festival will receive a welcome gift bag full and VIP red carpet treatment.

Covered by Independent Filmmaker Magazine and presented by the Indie Fest USA Entertainment Group (IFUEG), The Indie Fest USA International Film Festival is an eight day event, showcasing the films of independent filmmakers, along with live music from local indie talent. The festival features an opening night party and reception, a closing awards ceremony, and seminars, key notes, and workshops, and parties and networking events throughout the week. The festival also hosts eight charities: Charity Water, Save the Rain Forest, Fair Trade Federation, Breast Cancer, Substance Abuse Prevention and Education, Helping the Homeless, Spina Bifida, and Save the Music, one charity for each day of the festival.
