The company announced added benefits and resources that make the job of management and self-management easier, more rewarding and less frustrating. The company also launched the IMA Artist Observatory Radio, an internet radio station featuring music from its Members.
"Today's announcement reflects the new and improved Indie Managers Association - a company focused on educating independent music managers that represent artists not signed to major record labels or publishing companies, as well as self-managed artists," said Jeremy Rwakaara, president of the Indie Managers Association.
New Members-Only Section
The Indie Managers Association offers a new Members-Only section, accessible by username and password, for the benefit of its Members. A variety of exclusive resources and benefits are offered in the Members-Only Section, including:
• IMA Artist Observatory : IMA Members can upload artist's information to the IMA Artist Observatory ; a section of the site with features that allow industry professionals to search artist profiles by artist name, artist genre, song genre, artist 'sounds like', and artist location. Music from IMA Members can also be heard on the IMA Artist Observatory Radio station.
• AandR Directory Assistance: This unique feature enables IMA members to check for information on all major label and many independent label AandR reps in the United States and Canada. "Imagine a situation where, for example, you meet somebody in a club and they say they are an AandR rep from a major label. How can you verify that? If you are an IMA member, you'll know the answer within 24 hours" says Rwakaara.
• IMA AandR Connector: The IMA AandR Connector is a discovery, promotion and shopping service offered to qualified IMA members. Qualified member music is presented to a worldwide panel of interested music industry professionals.
• Member Discounts: IMA Members may take advantage of discounts on many products and services; including Hertz car rentals, Music Registry contact directories, the Indie Contact Bible, Oasis CD Manufacturing packages, MediaGuide's MusicMonitor Radio information services, Nielsen BDS products, Bryan Farrish Radio Promotion, TAXI Membership and more.
