Industry Experts Magazine Selects Larry Jacobs as a Distinguished Professional in His Field

Larry Jacobs will be featured in Industry Experts Magazine's Top 2016 edition.

NEW YORK, NY, October 10, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Larry Jacobs, Chief Executive Officer of Emsig Manufacturing Corporation, has been recognized as a Distinguished Professional in his field through Industry Experts Magazine. Larry Jacobs will be featured in Industry Experts Magazine's Top 2016 edition.

CEO of Emsig Manufacturing Corporation Larry Jacobs was taken on board by the button manufacturer in 1953, 25 years after being established by an Austrian-born immigrant family named Emsig. Based out of New York City, the company struggled through the Great Depression but made it out on top and today is one of the most successful manufacturers of its kind. A now fourth generation business, their reputation serves itself well in and around the city as well as abroad. With their main office in NYC, they also have a factory in Connecticut, Hong Kong and Shanghai, China, New Delhi, India, and Santiago and San Pedro de Marcoris, Dominican Republic, and Central America, and sales offices in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Los Angeles, California, Portland, Oregon, Nashville, Tennessee, Greensboro, North Carolina, Dallas, Texas, Chicago, Illinois, Miami, Florida, and various other cities. Selling roughly 40 million buttons per week for manufacturers worldwide, plus military buttons for the US Armed Services, Emsig prides on a level of safety and durability unlike any other.

When Jacobs isn't out in the field or travelling for work, he can be found in his NYC office in the heart of the Garment District. Overseeing every aspect of the business from marketing and advertising to working hands-on with employees, he loves being a part of the action.

"I love what I do. Our product is something consumers very much take for granted until we don't have them," Jacobs said about the very successful product. For such a small, and seemingly insignificant object, without buttons on our clothing we would certainly be at a loss. This is why Emsig has been doing so well for so long; nearly 90 years in fact."

Emsig designs and manufactures each and every button with quality and innovation and every single one of them are inspected and sorted by hand. Even though the factory has the capability of handling much of the work, the final inspection is still, to this day, completed by specially trained employees who provide a watchful eye in detecting defects. Once counted on computerized scales, they are then boxed for shipment and storage. Offering various types of buttons, including bio-tech, unbreakable shirt, glow-in-the-dark, and fire retardant buttons, they also produce an entire line of "green" buttons made from 100% recycled melamine, beverage cans, cotton, hemp, paper, polyester, vegetable fibers, and wood. They have handmade buttons manufactured in China, some of which are beaded, cloth covered, and crocheted, not to mention their handmade cufflinks and various assortment of hook eyes. They have magnetic closure buttons, buttons made of rubber, cast metal, cast poly, rod poly, plated, nylon, layered, coconut, combos, and corozo. All of these buttons can be custom made or have a logo lasered onto them for company uniforms. Some of their metal and plated buttons feature novelty buttons, stamped metals, and jean tacks. They also manufacture dozens of buttons specifically for the military, dating back to 1941. Some of their everyday buttons include dress and sport shirt buttons, super durable sport and shirt buttons, as well as trouser buttons and tailored clothing buttons, and an entire swimsuit collection of buttons to include salt water, sun, and sand resistant and swimming pool chemical resistant. Ranging in size, style, and durability, many of Emsig's buttons come in three different finishes: smooth, matte, and Parisian, which has a roughness that falls somewhere between smooth and matte.

Taking great pride in the fact that they offer a quality brand, Jacobs also stresses that they are equally affordable.

"My job as CEO is to ensure that our product is not only competitively priced, but also reliable. It's my responsibility to see that we are different from our competitors and quality, design, and price are the three biggest reasons we are far superior from our competitors."

A big part of what Emsig represents, Jacobs has been with the manufacturing giant for more than 60 years. Having initially worked in their factory, he later moved in accounting, worked in administration, and eventually found his way into sales where he remained for years before becoming Vice-President in 1978 and later as CEO.
