/24-7PressRelease/ - MADILL, OK, March 29, 2008 - NewBookReviews.org announces the launch of their innovative Book Review Club which differs from the traditional role of book clubs, where consumers get a few books for a small fee, and are sent new books to purchase on a regular basis. NBR.org's Book Review Club members will receive free books in compensation for submiting an original book review of the books they receive for publication on NBR.org's website.
NewBookReviews.org believes that book consumers have the power to change how the best books are found and purchased by voicing their opinions via book reviews. The slow demise of review sections in newspapers, nation wide, offers a rare opportunity to give book readers a strong voice in what books become best sellers, avoiding the hype that has been prevelent in past 'best sellers lists'. Book consumers can let the world know what they expect from authors and publishers, and what they don't like as well.
According to Ray Ward, managing editor of NewBookReviews.org, "We would like to see a book market that is truely consumer driven, and not advertising driven, as in the past." "We see many talented new authors get ignored by the publishing industry, and those authors never get the exposure that would allow the public to discover that talent, and to enjoy the books they write." Ward also said, "We would like to become the best book review website on the web, so we need hundreds of reviews to meet the need for information by book consumers." "Our limited number of review editors cannot provide the numbers of reviews needed, our goal is to get book lovers involved in the process, while giving them a way to voice their opinions for other readers benefit, while they get free books to read and review."
NBR.org's Book Review Club Members may select the category of books they like to read, and will receive them free in exchange for the rights given to NewBookReviews.org to publish the book reviews they write. The membership fee allows NBR.org to separate really interested readers from those that would abuse club benefits, without writing and submitting a book review. As soon as the member's book review is received, approved, and edited another book is sent to the member to read and review.
NBR.org's review editors will continue reviewing books, but will also help members with their review writing, editing and support. The whole review process should be fun, and informative for the members and will offer a wide selection of new books for review.
