/24-7PressRelease/ - HAMPTON WICK, UK, June 06, 2007 - Founded in May 2002, Intellect is the UK trade association for the IT, telecoms and electronics industries.

The board is almost entirely comprised of senior executives from the world's most successful and most innovative hi-tech companies who are drawn from Intellect's membership.

Kate Craig-Wood, 30, is the youngest person to join the board of Intellect, and brings with her considerable experience from the UK IT industry, having co-founded Memset Dedicated Server Hosting in 2002 and prior to that worked in various senior IT roles with Alphameric, Alphawave, Arthur Andersen and Easyspace.

On putting herself up for election onto the board, Kate felt that she could "better represent the interests of small, high-growth IT businesses and the Internet Services sector on the main board." With a mandate to represent the interests of small IT businesses as well as large, Kate feels her experience as an entrepreneur managing a "small business" with a highly innovative approach, makes her a suitable candidate for the Intellect UK Board.

The appointment takes effect from 24 May 2007.

Kate hopes to use her position on the board of Intellect to, "not only represent the Internet/hosting sector and interests of small IT businesses but to also use her experience in green computing to make this an issue Intellect UK champions within the industry."

John Higgins, director general of Intellect, comments, "I would like to congratulate Kate on her election to the board. It's fantastic to see more women and young entrepreneurs joining the board. Kate will add a valuable perspective that will help the board shape the direction of Intellect's work."
