Growing up, Michelle's family moved a lot but always stayed in the San Fernando Valley. From Woodland Hills to Canyon Country to Burbank to North Hollywood, Michelle's home may have changed, but her love of performing did not. For ten years, whether it'd be at performances, auditions, or personal social events, she has been approached innumerable times for vocal coaching and instruction. Her undeniable stage presence captivates the audience, with her soulful voice sending listeners into a hypnotic trance. Michelle's passion is a true understated beauty, as alluring as her baby face, as well as her smart business acumen, amply exemplified by Miss Andria establishing her own vocal academy.
Known as "Powerhouse Stars," this outstanding vocal academy continues to make a difference in Hollywood by helping singers build confidence, motivation, and inspiration, while instilling the disciplined lifestyle of a singer. "I interviewed a potential student, and he touched me when he began crying, saying that he's never seen any place like this and why did it take him so long to find Powerhouse Stars," exudes Michelle. Nearing its one year anniversary, Powerhouse Stars is a definite testament to Michelle Andria's ability and talent.
Even before creating her social online profiles, Michelle was already receiving orders for her CD from fans all over the U.S., as well as international requests from Manila, Tokyo, London, Germany, and even the Persian Gulf. "I didn't really plan on selling my CD's," confesses Miss Andria. "I just wanted to make a demo to get a record deal." Her first CD received a rave review from VH-1 "Song of the Year," stating her talent as "Outstanding with Strong Marketability ," judging her vocals a 9 out of 10. Michelle's Myspace profile features three of her latest songs, with fans and professionals alike feeling its radio-catchy vibe. There is much anticipation for her second CD, and Michelle is currently considering all serious recording offers to take her to that next level.
Michelle gives credit for her ingenius musical arrangements to a young, up'n'coming, musical prodigy: Colby O (who's worked with the likes of Justin Timberlake and Silk the Shocker.) Michelle attests "Colby and his manager, Freddy Colon [of Future Icon Records] understand what I go through in life. They've seen me at my highs and lows, during heartbreak, even through financial hardships." She continues, "Having to decide whether I should spend my money on school or choose studio recording is an excruciating choice. Thank God, they've been very patient with me."
A brief touching story is listed on Michelle's MySpace blog about an experience she had when working as a Karaoke Hostess at a very popular L.A. venue. When she sang Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You," boisterous men began throwing crumpled paper at her, all the while laughing and drinking with fervor. Armed with self-confidence, Michelle kept her cool, managing to complete the tune and humbly pick up the tossed papers (you could imagine her holding back the tears). To her surprise, these pieces of paper turned out to be crumpled $10 and $20 dollar bills! Apparently, their laughter and excitement were all due to her compelling voice, that voice that will soon inspire all.
Besides her bodacious curves and sweet disposition, Michelle Andria is pursuing a double major in Accounting and Business Law at a prestigious California University. Even with that, as well as her Business Economics degree, she claims "You know I'd drop everything for a record deal though, right? I mean, who wouldn't?"
