Spartan Internet Consulting has released the final week of the Internet Political Performance Index results quantifying the Impact of the Internet on the 2008 Presidential election results.

LANSING, MI, November 06, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Spartan Internet Consulting has released the final week of the Internet Political Performance Index results quantifying the Impact of the Internet on the 2008 Presidential election results. The Index which was launched a year ago in August 2007 began by showing Barack Obama as the strongest contender for the 2008 Presidential campaign based upon over 650 online factors of influence. The Spartan Internet Political Performance (SIPP) Index was the first quantitative measure of the Internet-wide performance of each presidential candidate for the 2008 election. The index measured the level of support and how well each candidate connected with individuals across the Internet.

The presidential candidates' Internet performances ended this week with Barack Obama (65.62%) and John McCain (34.38%). "The SIPP Index results this week provide a glimpse into the grass root support base for each of the candidates heading into the final days of the 2008 Presidential Election. From the early days of the campaigns back in August 2007 Barack Obama clearly stood out as someone who was leveraging the Internet and connecting with voters on unprecedented levels," said Ryan Vartoogian President of Spartan Internet Consulting. The Internet is continuing to grow in importance each Presidential Election cycle. The SIPP Index represents the most comprehensive indicator to measure the Internet impact on candidates. "Based upon the performance during the campaign I would expect Obama will continue to utilize the Internet to mobilize the country to action", said Vartoogian.

Spartan Internet Consulting has leveraged its web expertise to objectively develop the SIPP Index of 650 quantitative factors across the Internet such as social network outreach, website traffic, blog presence, and search engine utilization into a single representative score for each of the 2008 presidential candidate's overall Internet market share.

The results of the SIPP Index were published weekly for nearly a year prior to the 2008 Presidential Election. Results from the SIPP Index confirm the Impact of the Internet on the 2008 Election Results. For more information go to:
