/24-7PressRelease/ -- The 9th Domain pulse is being held at the Hotel Grand Elysee in Hamburg on February 13 and 14, 2012. This event is the most important German-speaking event in the domain industry - over 350 participants are expected to attend this year. Domain pulse is hosted by the registries DENIC, nic.at and SWITCH and provides a platform for discussions on the future development of the Internet. The focus of this year's conference is on the increasing importance of the Internet in all areas of life and on legal risks in the domain business. InterNetX experts from the sales and marketing departments will be on site to engage in discussions with conference participants.
At Domain pulse, industry experts will provide background information and facts on all areas of the Internet industry. Presentations such as "The Internet as a social operating system" or "Hacking for Managers" deal with current topics and trends in the Internet. Furthermore, experts from registries like EURid wil be sharing insights on the various applications of domains on the current domain market.
"As one of the largest registrars for .DE, .AT and .CH domains, attending Domain pulse is an absolute must for us. The forum is a good opportunity to meet our customers and partners and discuss future developments," says Hakan Ali, founder and Director of Sales and Marketing at the Regensburg-based Internet Service Provider.
Together, the three German registries DENIC nic.at and SWITCH represent one of the biggest name spaces on the Internet:
DENIC is the registry for all .DE domains. It provides an automatic electronic registration system for domain administration, maintains a worldwide network of name servers, and provides the German Internet community with various services.
nic.at is the registry for all .AT, .CO.AT and .OR.AT domains. The owner of nic.at is the Internet Foundation Austria (IPA), a non-profit organisation whose purpose is to promote the Internet in Austria. Since 2010, nic.at also advises applicants for new top-level domains. In 2011, nic.at exceeded one million domain registrations.
The SWITCH Foundation controls the Swiss scientific online network, which has been responsible for providing Internet access at Swiss universities since 1987. SWITCH manages the domain extensions .CH and .LI domains and provides standard Internet services via a subsidiary. SWITCH currently manages approximately 1.6 million .CH domains.
InterNetX is a top provider of first-class domain products and hosting solutions. With more than 3,4 million managed domains and about 1.600 hosted servers InterNetX has grown to be one of the most successful wholesale traders for resellers and professional users on the international market.
