Investing in Eastern Europe takes perseverance
1. When looking at properties with land it is essential to check on ownership. Eastern Europe's land registries are normally very thorough and the small cost of having the ownership checked is a safeguard against any future problems.

/24-7PressRelease/ - DEREHAM, UK, April 16, 2008 - Finding pictures and details of properties on the internet is fairly easy. There are plenty of property websites such as http://www.redence.com but the problems begin when you need more details. A lot of estate agents in Eastern Europe do not have websites and submit their properties to websites who specialise in property. In many cases the details for contacting the original vendors agent is solely by telephone and very often their command of English is not too good.
If you are serious about the enquiry it can be useful to contact a translator who will make the calls on your behalf. This need not be expensive. A Good site to start is http://www.translatorsbase.com/default.aspx which is very informative and I have used it many times.
The other method is to find as much as you can on three or more properties and arrange a trip to see them. If you treat this as a short holiday break it makes it more worthwhile and you will be surprised who you meet locally. I have often found English speaking locals who have kept in contact and helped me find the property I was looking for.
A few points to bear in mind.
1. When looking at properties with land it is essential to check on ownership. Eastern Europe's land registries are normally very thorough and the small cost of having the ownership checked is a safeguard against any future problems.
2. Check farm tracks they could be roads tomorrow.
3. If the property has its own well for water check that you have sole use of it.
4. There are some excellent builders in Eastern Europe who work to a very high standard and are inexpensive. Finding a local project manager can speed up things enormously.
5. You will need a lot of patience and remember being polite goes a long way to finding your Dream Home.
