PALO ALTO, CA, March 18, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Seventh Annual Global Technology Symposium, the West Coast's premier investor conference on venture capital, technology, and growth companies in emerging markets, will be held at the Arrillaga Alumni Center at Stanford University in Palo Alto, Calif., on March 24-26, 2010.

The Symposium brings together international business, finance, political, and technology leaders to discuss ways in which the technology and investment communities can take advantage of increased globalization and emerging markets. The theme of the 2010 Symposium will be "Disruptive Technologies for Economic Recovery."

Marquee speakers at the Symposium include Aneesh Chopra, federal chief technology officer, United States; Craig Barrett, former chairman, Intel; Martin Korolec, minister of economy, Poland; management guru Geoffrey Moore; Elvira Nabiullina, minister of economic development, Russia; Clyde Prestowitz, president, Economic Strategy Institute; and noted venture capitalists Igor Agamirzian, Ira Ehrenpreis, Steve Jurvetson, and Kate Mitchell.

"Year after year, the Symposium brings together the world's top minds in business, technology, academia, and the public sector to identify the ways we can best take advantage of globalization and emerging markets," said Alexandra Johnson, managing director, DFJ-VTB Aurora, and president, Global Technology Symposium. "As we recover from the global recession, it's even more important that we examine promising new hubs of innovation. I expect interesting and important discussions as we take a closer look during this year's Symposium."

The Symposium begins with an Entrepreneurship Workshop on Wednesday, March 24 at the Plug and Play Tech Center, a business incubator in Sunnyvale, Calif.

The 2010 Symposium is sponsored by Rusnano; Russian Venture Company; VTB Capital; Grid Dynamics; Prequent, Inc.; Allianz-Rosno; BDO Seidman; CzechInvest; the U.S. Civilian Research & Development Foundation; Microsoft; Plug and Play Tech Center; and Silicon Valley Bank.
