/24-7PressRelease/ -- On Monday, August 3 at 6 p.m. British author and theorist Anthony Peake will be making his first U.S. professional appearance at Midtown Manhattan's landmark Roosevelt Hotel, Madison Avenue.
Peake rose to prominence when his theoretical essay, "Cheating the Ferryman: A New Paradigm of Existence?" was published by the Journal of Near Death Studies in 2005. The piece was lauded by Carlson Professor of Psychiatry Bruce Greyson as being particularly provocative and innovative. The essay was expanded into a full text, appearing in 2006 under the title, "Is There Life After Death?: The Extraordinary Science of What Happens When We Die". It was published by Chartwell Books. A second book appeared in 2008, entitled, "The Daemon" (Arcturus Publishing). Peake proposes a secret, second self hidden within human consciousness, that serves as a guide and recorder in life, and gives a thrilling gift to human consciousness at death. In the past several years, Peake has presented and defended his material in hundreds of lectures and radio broadcasts throughout Great Britain and Europe. He emphasizes the Jungian concepts of synchronicity and the personal unconscious in his research and writings.
Gnosis Arts Multimedia director, Eric Bryant, 34, of Bedminster , New Jersey, is hosting the free event, which will include a reception for the author with complimentary bar and buffet for attendees. Says Bryant, "This is my way of giving back. To introduce an innovative thinker from Europe who has much to give philosophy and psychology, and the general culture, is a productive thing, I think. I am happy to make this an event which is free and open to press and public."
Peake's work has received global acclaim from such associations as the International Scientific and Medical Network, Fortean Times, Paranormal Magazine, and from the illustrious consciousness researcher and paranormalist, Colin Wilson. This July he is honored platform lecturer for the National Theatre in London. The event at the Roosevelt Hotel begins at 6 p.m. in the Broadway Suite on August 3.
