RALEIGH, NC November 25, 2008
/24-7PressRelease/ -- At their 2009 Officer Installation Dinner, the Greater Raleigh-Durham Chapter 105 of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) presented a $1,500 check to Nancy Sumner, Director of Development for Urban Ministries of Wake County. The check represented proceeds from the association's annual President's Cup Challenge held in October at the Crooked Creek Golf Course in Fuquay-Varina. This is the fourth year that Urban Ministries has been the golf tournament's charitable cause.
"Urban Ministries relies heavily on the community for support—both from financial and in-kind contributions," says Sumner. "We truly value the broad-based support that we receive from IREM. Receiving funds like these are essential to our operation." Sumner also added that she appreciates the connection shared by the two organizations. "We're both in the business of providing shelter. It's a nice dovetail."
Current IREM President, Cliff Hamner CPMÒ, says that he's proud of his Chapter's continued support of Urban Ministries of Wake County. "IREM is proud of our commitment to community," says Hamner. "It's gratifying to know that our annual President's Golf Challenge will have a positive impact on so many families in our immediate area. We're honored of our association with Urban Ministries and are grateful to the invaluable work they continue to do for our community."
