CO. MONAGHAN, IRELAND, October 24, 2009
/24-7PressRelease/ -- "Having established ourselves as market leaders here in Ireland we are now set to take on the UK and US markets" said the owner and lead designer Yoram Drori. "Having appeared on QVC and attending a number of UK trade shows; we know that our pieces will be popular in the overseas markets. It's now just a matter of connecting with these overseas customers. ...The pieces sell themselves."
The website is also set to become a vibrant online community where students of Celtic design come to learn new skills and meet people with similar interests. "We have seen the number of people interested in learning these ancient skills continue to grow over recent years" said Yoram, "we plan to encourage that appreciation of Celtic Craft work by providing e-learning material on the site for students of the old Irish arts." This may well turn out to be an excellent idea as the site has already received thousands of hits since the inclusion of a series of video word carving lessons aimed at beginners and presented by Yoram himself.
"The website targets three key users..." continues Yoram. "...Consumers shopping for Irish themed Gifts, Retailers and People who share an interest in Celtic Craft Work". "Making the site usable and accessible to all three user-types has been one of our main challenges".
Yoram and the team are very excited about this new online venture and despite the current economic downturn are not in the least bit worried about demand dropping for their uniquely Irish line of gifts. "People are still getting married" exclaims Yoram, "in fact sales for our line of wedding gifts are up on last year ...'High Quality Artwork' and 'Value for Money' seldom appeared in the same sentence for the last few years, but now we are seeing people spending a little more time looking for that extra reason to buy. Nowhere is this more true than online. This may not be good news for many established websites selling lesser quality products - but for us it's great news."
It looks like all the hard work has really paid off as early indicators suggest that visitors are really happy with the way the website works. The sites first customer, Cathy Mungovan, shares her experience as a first time customer -"Finding something for my parent's 25th wedding anniversary was quick and easy. I knew right away that the 'Old Irish Marriage Blessing' was the perfect gift ...I was also thrilled to learn that I could add my own personalized inscription".
The final problem faced by Yoram and the web design team was how to make the site suitable for retailers. "We had to think very carefully about this" insists Yoram, "rather than perceiving the new site as a threat we wanted retailers to accept the new website as something that makes their lives easier too. ...We worked closely with a number of retailers and had to work very hard to ensure that our resellers enjoyed a vastly improved ordering process whilst not undermining the competitiveness of anyone involved".
Yoram argues that "a strong relationship with our retailers is the life-blood of Irish Celtic Art Studio."
By not undercutting their loyal retailers and offering real incentives for using the site (such as free worldwide shipping, real-time currency conversion and a one-step check out process) our retailers have no reason not to create an account on the site and start enjoying the benefits of the new and improved online ordering system. "We have been waiting for the complaints to start rolling in" muses Yoram, "but so far we have heard nothing but praise for the new site. We couldn't have hoped for a more seamless transition to such a great new system."
