/24-7PressRelease/ - ISRAEL, January 29, 2008 - The founder and manager of Israel-hiking is Amos Zuk, 56, a graduate of the Faculty of Agriculture of The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Amos has many years of experience and knows Israeli trails well. Over the past several years, he has organized and guided tours of Israeli hikers. This year - the sixtieth anniversary of the State of Israel - Amos created a special program for tourists interested in sightseeing the good old way, on foot.
Our trips are designed for people used to hiking distances and climbing. The hikes are generally 12-15 km a day, height differences of 300-700 m each day. In special cases, Israel Hiking will indicate if the difficulty level is higher than standard. The hikes are designed for healthy people over the age of 18. Each trip is generally made up of 4 full days of hiking, a one-day guided tour of Jerusalem and another day in Jerusalem for independent leisure activities and touring. You will need to reach the starting point on your own. Israel Hiking will arrange and be responsible for the rides and transfers from the time the trip begins and through arrival in Jerusalem.
The minimum group size is generally 8 people. The groups are not large, allowing a good personal rapport to be established between the guide and each participant. The guide remains with the group the entire time in the field.
Our guides are English speakers, who are certified guides and have experience in the regions of the trip. If you are interested in a tour in a language other than English, we will make every effort to find a guide who speaks the language and masters the professional terms so that you will be able to enjoy the trip.
