COLUMBUS, OH, April 08, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Spring has sprung this April, with Columbus IT Professionals gathering to support charities, start-up companies, and one another at the next IT Community event hosted by IT Martini. This is the fourth in a series of events hosted by IT Martini, a community organization focused on growing the IT Community in Columbus.

The series started in the summer of 2008 with an event celebrating the collaborative nature of IT Professionals. Since then, it"s gone on to explore IT Professional roles, accomplishments, and now - diversity. A panel discussion highlighting diversity is kicking off the evening, with some key IT leaders participating: Sehul Patel, IT Director of Buckeye Ranch; RC Wheeless, CEO of InsightETE; and Janis Mitchell, CEO of PreciseResource.

This latest topic is something that's particularly close to IT Martini co-founder, John Bishop. He explains, "Working with our charity partners TECH CORPS Ohio and The King Arts Complex has taught me how important diversity is to the community. It's more than some corporate policy - it's a 'mindset' that needs to be embraced."

IT Martini Hour 4 also brings innovation, illustrated by the six Columbus area companies providing demos for the event: YourLiveTrainer, TRN360, dPop, PerformanceWorks Portal, MWait, and Toobla. IT Professional attendees have an opportunity to take the demos for a 'test drive,' socialize their ideas and then cast their ballots for the IT Martini Community Choice Award.

The event closes with live music from the band Version 100, which is a new concept for IT Martini Hour events. Aladin Gohar, IT Martini co-founder, discusses the addition: "Having a band is a great way to wrap up the evening. It's like having a mini South By Southwest right here in our backyard."

IT Martini Hour 4: Spring Break-Through is scheduled for April 9th, 2009, from 5:30-10:00pm at the Bar of Modern Art, 595 E Broad St., Columbus, OH 43215. A limited number of registrations are available at http://itmartini.eventbrite.com. For more information, please contact cofounders@itmartini.com.
