LEEDS, UK, October 09, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Today i-to-i Meaningful Travel announces a new volunteer vacation in Cambodia: 'Help Teach and Care for Children'. This intriguing country may be widely neglected by the mainstream tourists, but volunteer travel in Cambodia is increasingly popular amongst those in the know.

Phnom Penh has become a melting pot of cultures every bit as diverse as the architecture that cram its busy streets. Amongst the cafes, restaurants and street traders though, volunteer vacationers will glimpse the problems of the past in the shape of biting poverty and large numbers of street children. i-to-i's partner projects in Cambodia help the country on its journey from the dark past to a bright future by broadening the horizons of underprivileged youngsters through education, mentoring and coaching in the city's many children's homes.

In Phnom Penh i-to-i now works with a number of children's homes where volunteer vacationers are needed to improve the conditions and opportunities of Cambodian street children and orphans. The aim of these children's homes is to provide a safe shelter, education and vocational training. The children are cared for with clothing, medical care and three meals per day.

By working at these projects travelers on a volunteer vacation in Cambodia will be in a position to improve the education of the students and provide them with a role model and coach. Acquiring language and computer skills can broaden the students' horizons and give them access to far better employment opportunities in the future.

The new volunteer vacation 'Help Teach and Care for Children in Cambodia' has a minimum duration of 3 weeks and costs $1190, including accommodation, meals and in country support. i-to-i also offers volunteer vacations in countries like Cambodia, Thailand, Argentina, Kenya, Tanzania, Peru, India, Nepal and China. Since 1994, i-to-i, has been the award-winning leader in volunteer vacations, TEFL (teaching English as a foreign language) training and job placement abroad. Each year, i-to-i sends approximately 5,000 volunteers to 500 projects in 35 countries and helps 15,000 people gain the certification necessary to teach English overseas. i-to-i volunteers contributed approximately one million hours of service last year.
