iTunes Music Alert: Is This Guinness World's Record for Longest Published Song Now the Shortest Path to Saving Lives in the Middle East?

"The Scriptures" is the brainchild of musician Mike Peters and features Over 200 musicians across six music genres. Funds raised from recording sales will help save lives of cancer patients via donations to a marrow registry in the Holy Land.

"More importantly, they've found that Arab donors help save the lives of Jewish people, too. They are literally building bridges of peace and saving lives in the Middle East."

DENVER, CO, November 06, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mike Peters, the front man for the Welsh rock band, The Alarm possesses a legacy that transcends music. A two-time cancer survivor, Peters co-founded the Love Hope Strength Foundation, the largest music-based cancer charity in the world. Now, thanks to Peters, their organization's slogan, "saving lives one concert at a time" could well become "saving lives one download at a time."

All because his latest creation, "The Scriptures" recently broke a Guinness World's Record for the longest officially released song at 103 minutes, 75 verses and 6.247 words. To date, "The World's Longest Officially Released Song" has already raised more than its intended fundraising target.

In June 2014, Mike Peters journeyed around the world to collaborate with musicians and songwriters from all walks of life to write and record "The Scriptures." What started with a single guitar chord recorded at Bardo Studios, Tel Aviv grew to recording sessions in Wales, Los Angeles, Austin, New York and Boston before being completed at London's Abbey Road Studio 2 in late September 2014.

Funds raised from the sales of the recording will be donated to the Unrelated Marrow Donor Registry of Hadassah in the Holy Land. This facility, led by Dr. Amal Bishara, helps find life-saving matches throughout the entire Middle East for those individuals with blood cancer and are in desperate need of a transplant to survive.

As Peters shared, "Dr. Amal and her team do similar work to Love Hope Strength. They're the world's first Arab Donor Registry. They have signed up over 20,000 people. More importantly, they've found that Arab donors help save the lives of Jewish people, too. They are literally building bridges of peace and saving lives in the Middle East."

"The Scriptures" will help raise funds for Dr. Amal and her team to continue to cheek swab people and build on the goodwill the Hadassah registry is generating.

All collaborators were sought through a PledgeMusic campaign. This allowed the public to write lyrics or make a musical contribution within their own environment and send it back over the internet.

Peters added, "The finished work is more than a song, more than an album and more than a recording by a group of musicians. It is as human as humanity will allow, crafted from the imaginations of hundreds of people from all walks of life and all corners of the globe."

Over 200 musicians and lyric writers joined Mike Peters and The Alarm. This includes contributions from members of Spandau Ballet, Fastball, Gene of Loves, Jezebel, The Cult, The Mission, The Jam and numerous other musicians and voices from around the world. In fact, everyone who contributed to this historic recording is listed in the official credits and recognized as a true official world record holder.

"The Scriptures" is available for purchase now via iTunes digital download and as a Double CD format complete with exclusive comprehensive lyric book and formal credits detailing all 2200 contributors.
