J. Gary LeRoux Recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for Excellence in Trade Association Management

Accomplished professional J. Gary LeRoux heads an internationally recognized organization committed to the coordination of safe and environmentally conscious regulatory policies for the paint and coatings industry

Gary LeRoux, the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Paint and Coatings Association (CPCA), has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in trade association management for the paint and coatings industry.

The CPCA is dedicated to representing Canada's major paint and coatings manufacturers as well as the industry's suppliers and distributors. Governed by an elected board of directors, CPCA committees focus on developing regulatory policies and delivering programs and services related to health, safety, environment, product stewardship and relevant management information for its members. Committed to improving the environmental and consumer friendliness of products, the policies set by the CPCA allow governments to meet environmental goals while simultaneously meeting business objectives in the industry.

As president of the organization, Mr. LeRoux utilizes his more than two decades of professional experience to work collaboratively with the CPCA Board to identify and implement strategic initiatives and projects designed to ensure the ongoing relevance of the organization to both members and industry stakeholders. An expert in business management and human resources development, Mr. LeRoux is tasked with the responsibility of providing leadership, focus and energy to CPCA staff, members and volunteers. At the same time the Association maintains its focus on relevant industry issues related to general advocacy, government relations, education, research and information dissemination. The Canadian paint and coatings industry prides itself on leading the world in post consumer paint recycling.

Mr. LeRoux demonstrates an affinity for communicating effectively with members, external stakeholders and the media to achieve the Association's goals and objectives. Having already founded and operated two successful businesses in the food and beverage industry, while being employed in the government relations industry, Mr. LeRoux is no stranger to using his knowledge to advance the goals of industry and to forge ahead in his chosen profession. He also founded and operated a Canadian public affairs firm for 20 years representing multinational companies and associations in Canada, the United States and Europe.

Attributing his success to his education, hard work and the many opportunities he has been given over the years, Mr. LeRoux became involved in his industry because of his prior professional experience. He has also completed post-graduate courses in public affairs and has always been interested in association management. Mr. LeRoux's background in higher education consists of a master's degree in public administration from Carleton University and a bachelor's degree in Political Science from St. Francis Xavier University. He currently serves as a board member for the American Coatings Association, as a CEPA-Industry Coordinating Group member and sits on the Chemical Management Plan's National Advisory Council. Additionally, Mr. LeRoux holds professional memberships with the International Paint and Printing Ink Council, the Chemical and Allied Industries Group and the Canadian Society of Association Executives.

In the future, Mr. LeRoux intends to continue helping the association grow by contributing to the building of successful programs for a more sustainable industry. Away from the demands of work he has contributed to his community including organizations such as the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario, the Ottawa Heart Institute, the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation and several other worthy organizations.
