Jack Hepting Celebrates Nearly 50 Years of Professional Excellence

Mr. Hepting has received a Citation Award from Progressive Architecture Magazine



    RALEIGH, NC, January 15, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jack Hepting has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

With nearly 50 years of industry experience to his credit, Mr. Hepting has recently retired, having previously spent the last several years of his career as a race official, technical inspector, and tire official for NASCAR from 2007 to 2013. Prior to this appointment, he served as the chief body fabricator for Dion Bros. Racing during NASCAR's Busch North Series from 2002 to 2007.

Previously, Mr. Hepting held the positions of building inspector, zoning enforcement agent, and special constable for the town of Sudbury, MA, from 1990 to 2006, as well as partner at Larson Associates, Inc. from 1986 to 1990, senior associate with The Architects Collaborative Inc. from 1972 to 1986, assistant professor of design at the College of Architecture and Planning for Ball State University from 1968 to 1970, partner at Hepting and Costello from 1968 to 1970, and chief associate of Charles Colbert from 1965 to 1968.

Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Hepting pursued an education at Phillips Exeter Academy, completing coursework in 1959. He followed this opportunity with coursework at The Architectural Association at the University of London in 1964. He continued his studies at Tulane University, where he earned both a Master's degree in Architecture and a Bachelor's degree in Architecture in 1965. Mr. Hepting concluded his academic endeavors at Harvard University, graduating with a Master's Degree from the Graduate School of Design in 1972.

Beyond his formal education, Mr. Hepting became registered as an architect in Massachusetts and Louisiana, the latter of which he remains licensed to this day. He has also been certified by the NCARB, as well as a certified inspector of buildings in Massachusetts. In 1999, Mr. Hepting enrolled in the Skip Barber School of Racing in Limerock Park, CT.

In addition to his primary trade, Mr. Hepting remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. In his collegiate years, he was recruited for the U.S. Junior Davis Cup Tennis Team, where he found much success. He was also involved as a former official of the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency. Furthermore, Mr. Hepting has maintained active membership with the esteemed honor society, Tau Sigma Delta.

In light of his exceptional undertakings, Mr. Hepting has accrued numerous accolades and honors throughout his impressive career. In 2009, he was recognized among the Top 101 Industry Experts by Cambridge Publishing, who previously cited Mr. Hepting among the Top Executives, Professionals, and Entrepreneurs. Likewise, he has received the Janet Webel Memorial Scholarship from Harvard University, the Henry Adams Fund Award for Excellence in Architecture, and a Citation Award from Progressive Architecture Magazine. Mr. Hepting was also a member of the tennis team that earned the SEC championship at Tulane University in 1959, and from 1962 to 1964.

Profiled by the Boston Globe in 2005 for his contracted work as the chief site architect at the University of Baghdad, Mr. Hepting has dedicated his retirement to personal efforts, such as the renovation of a horse barn as well as gem collecting and cutting. Looking toward the future, Mr. Hepting hopes to enjoy his retirement while taking on the challenge of the construction and flying of radio-control model airplanes.
