Cambridge Who’s Who is an exclusive membership organization that recognizes and empowers executives, professionals and entrepreneurs throughout the world.
WASHINGTON, DC, October 17, 2008 James F. Steighner, Retired Deputy Director of Internal Review from the United States Navy, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Financial Services. While inclusion in Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only two male and two female members in each discipline are named the Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year. The Cambridge Who's Who selection committee chooses these special honorees based on their accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership, and service.

With 32 years of professional experience, Mr. Steighner specializes in accounting, financial analysis and fraud investigation. He is responsible for organizing programs and reviewing financial records. He served as a medical analyst for 14 years and as a deputy director for 12 years at the U.S. Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery. He considers recommending a program to eliminate smoking in the Navy to be his greatest professional accomplishment. He became involved in his profession because of his interest in accounting and accountability.

Mr. Steighner holds a Master of Arts in Business and Supervision from Central Michigan University and also completed the Federal Bureau of Investigation White Collar Crime Program in Georgia. Although he is retired, Mr. Steighner stays current with the trends in his profession by attending internal training programs. Some of his achievements include receiving the Special Service Award for Outstanding Commitment, from Vice President Dick Cheney, serving as Secretary of Defense.
