James Hardy Honored for Excellence as an Architect

    TELLURIDE, CO, March 13, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Architect James Hardy has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in architecture.

Mr. Hardy has more than 36 years of professional experience, with 15 as the owner of his architectural firm, which provides unique and out-of-the-box designs for custom residential architecture. Mr. Hardy attributes his success to hard work and being in the right place at the right time. He became involved in his profession because of "dumb luck," as he puts it. He grew up in Northern California and notes that while at Diablo Valley College he majored in "pre-" everything from medicine and law to architecture. During his final semester, he signed up for architecture classes and after two weeks, dropped out. In the meantime, he applied to four-year colleges, as well as Berkeley and the University of Idaho. Although he was accepted by Berkeley in any field except architecture, the University of Idaho accepted him into their architecture program.

Mr. Hardy received a bachelor's degree in architecture from the University of Idaho in 1979. He was recently inducted into Worldwide Registry, and his work has been featured in The GOLD LIST of Western Interiors and Design Magazine in 2009 and Mountain Living Magazine's Top Mountain Architects. In years to come, as he recently accepted an adjunct professor position teaching entry-level architectural classes at Diablo Valley College, he intends to further explore the possibility of teaching architecture.
