Jamia Hamdard to offer Vocational Degrees and Diplomas integrating UK qualifications

    /24-7PressRelease/ - New Delhi, India, May 28, 2005 - Jamia Hamdard entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Edexcel International, UK to offer Degree / Diploma programmes integrating U K qualifications. Admission to integrated programmes will be open to students with 10+2 and the programme will incorporate highly-rated BTEC Higher National Diploma (BTEC HND) in Business from Edexcel International UK at the Bachelor's Degree Level in Management. On completion of Bachelor's degree, the students, based on admission critieria set up by the University, will move to obtain Diploma in Management Studies (DMS) from Edexcel and MBA from Jamia Hamdard.

Edexcel, one of the largest awarding bodies in the UK, is a leading innovative force behind academic and vocational qualifications worldwide. The BTEC (HND) qualifications, offered in 105 countries, have international currency; students can transfer globally for vocations or university programmes around the world. It forms a succinct entry route into 2nd/3rd year of first degrees in most of the universities in the US, UK, Australia, and Canada among others.

Since 1983 over 4.5 million students in the UK alone have enrolled on BTEC vocational programmes. BTEC syllabi and qualifications are internationally accredited, recognized and respected by employers and educationalists alike. These qualifications equip students with the vital knowledge, skills and confidence to meet the challenges of work in a global market. The Higher National Diplomas are the flagship qualifications of Edexcel.

Edexcel is the leading innovative force in education and training in the UK with a wide range of vocational qualifications. It incorporates BTEC, the top provider of applied and vocational qualifications, and London Examinations, one of the major GCSE and GCE examining boards in the UK.
