Previously, she held the positions of Vice Provost for Health Programs and Associate Dean of the College of Health and Social Welfare.
A graduate of prestigious universities such as Cornell University, Dartmouth College, and the University of Colorado, Dr. Harris holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies, a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration, and a Doctor of Health Administration. She remains active and engaged in her professional circles, including the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Alaska Public Health Association.
Dr. Harris has been recognized for her professional endeavors, including an Exceptional Performance Award by the Indian Health Service, a Senior Executive Regent's Award and Service Award by the American College of Healthcare Executives, the 2009 Alaska Meritorious Health Services Award, and the 2017 Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Community Engagement and Service. Recently retired from the University of Alaska Anchorage, Dr. Harris intends to continue to build on her experience and expertise, and to contribute to her field.
