Ballston Spa, NY, March 27, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jane Knight, a retired certified nurse midwife, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in nurse-midwifery programs and providing intrapartum care.

Ms. Knight dedicated more than a quarter century to providing prenatal care for expectant mothers, as well as delivering babies and ensuring excellent intrapartum and postpartum care. She became involved in her profession after working as a nurse in the U.S. Air Force: she wanted to continue nursing but was ready for more responsibilities. Ms. Knight says that the most rewarding aspects of her career were building relationships with staff nurses and ensuring that new mothers and their babies were happy and healthy. She attributes her success to the support she received from her patients and to her passion for her profession.

Ms. Knight received certification in midwifery through Andrews Air Force Base in 1979. She earned her Master's Degree in Counseling at Hampton Institute (now Hampton University) in 1984 and she holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, conferred in 1972. Ms. Knight is a member of the American College of Nurse-Midwives and the Alumni Association of Virginia Commonwealth University.
