Jane Marie Hartsock Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

With more than 45 years of industry experience to her credit, Ms. Hartsock is currently semi-retired, serving as a guest lecturer and tutor for nursing students in Casper, WY. Prior to these appointments, she has worked as an adjunct faculty member for the University of Wyoming from 2008 to 2011, a medical/surgical/clinical nursing specialist at the Wyoming Medical Center from 2008 to 2016, the director of nursing education programs at Aims Community College from 2004 to 2008, a medical/surgical/clinical nursing specialist for McKee Medical Center with Banner Health from 2001 to 2004, and associate professor for the Trinity College of Nursing & Health Sciences from 1994 to 2000.

Ms. Hartsock has also held the positions of staff nurse of oncology for the Health Center at the Trinity College of Nursing & Health Sciences from 1992 to 2000, an instructor at the Trinity College of Nursing & Health Sciences from 1992 to 1994, an instructor for the Minneapolis Community and Technical College from 1988 to 1992, and a nurse for the bone marrow transport unit at the University of Minnesota from 1987 to 1992. Previously, she has been the instructor at the Moline Public Hospital for the Trinity College of Nursing & Health Sciences from 1977 to 1987, a staff nurse for the Moline Public Hospital from 1971 to 1972, and head nurse for the U.S. Naval Hospital at Great Lakes, IL, from 1970 to 1971.

Before embarking on her professional path, Ms. Hartsock pursued an education at Marycrest International University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1977. She concluded her studies at the University of Iowa, graduating with a Master of Arts in 1982. Ms. Hartsock went on to receive certificates in advanced oncology nursing, pain management nursing, and as a clinical nurse specialist.

Beyond her efforts within the field, Ms. Hartsock has contributed to numerous endeavors outside of her professional circles. She has had a prolific service record with the United State Military, serving with the Nurse Corps with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War from 1970 to 1972, as well as with the Nurse Corps Reserve for the U.S. Army during Operation Desert Storm and the War on Terrorism from 1990 to 2005. A contributor of chapters to books and articles to professional journals, she held the position of song leader for the Blue Grass Church from 1977 to 1987. Furthermore, Ms. Hartsock was a member of the adjunct faculty for Marycrest International University in 1998.

In addition to her primary trade, Ms. Hartsock remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to her areas of expertise. She has maintained involvement with the American Nurses Association, the Oncology Nursing Society, the International Platform Association, the Reserve Officers Association of the United States, and the National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists. Additionally, she has been recognized as president of the Nursing Education Association from 1984 to 1985, the secretary for the Blue Grass, Iowa, section of the Pioneer Clubs from 1983 to 1987, and president of the Wyoming Nurses Association since 2013. A member of the International Nurses Association, Ms. Hartsock was also the president of Sigma Theta Tau International.

In light of her exceptional undertakings, Ms. Hartsock has accrued several accolades and honors throughout her impressive career. The recipient of numerous awards, including the Distinguished Alumni Award, she was honored as Nurse of the Year by the American Nurses Association. She was also selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in American Nursing, Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who's Who in the Midwest, Who's Who in the World, and Who's Who of American Women.
