LONDON, ENGLAND, July 17, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jas Jassal, BEM, Co-Founder and Director of Asian Cricket Awards and Majestic Global Marketing Ltd, has been recognized by Worldwide Branding for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in event management, charity and community service.

Mr. Jassal is the Co-founder of the Asian Cricket Awards, an initiative that aims to celebrate the success of the British South Asian community within the cricket industry. This sponsor driven initiative is supported by the governing bodies of UK sport and provides a positive platform to increase participation and representation from an existing and future generation. The journey of these nominees are highlighted and awareness of industry pathways communicated.

Mr. Jassal was recognised in 2014 amongst the Queens New Year Honours list for services rendered to charitable and community service providers with the British Empire Medal. He serves as a positive role model for people of all ages from all communities. Mr. Jassal puts in nearly seven-hundred voluntary hours each year, while balancing his day job and family life. This in itself is an amazing amount of dedication from an individual who clearly wants to change the landscape for diversity in sport. As Vice-Chairman of Concorde Rangers FC, he has assisted the club in its endeavors, and the West Middlesex and Hayes League in the forging of a partnership with the Queens Park Rangers Community Trust with the aim of raising standards and increasing participation in football in those sections of the community that are possibly under-represented in the game. One aspect of the partnership between the West Middlesex and Hayes League and QPR is the community development centre designed to raise the level of grassroots football and allow teenagers looking to break into coaching access to mentoring from QPR coaches.

Mr. Jassal was recently named trustee of the Hillingdon Community Trust. This volunteer role will allow him to provide grants to important equality and engagement initiatives in the Hillingdon Borough. His position will serve to ensure grants are provided to improve the quality of life in this region. In working with the Middlesex FA, Mr. Jassal has helped drive provision of coaching and refereeing courses locally while also encouraging young people to get into volunteering. He hopes to become an ambassador promoting volunteering to the masses. This commitment to volunteering has resulted in Mr. Jassal being awarded many honours for making a valuable contribution. His project work has impacted many lives positively and had an influence on his own children, who understand the values associated with volunteering. Both Mr. Jassal's sons are football coaches. His eldest son was a volunteer at the Olympic

Park; at a care home for the elderly and at the West Middlesex Hospital. His youngest son recently completed his referee's accreditation and is an FA referee. Serving as volunteers has aided his childrens' development and positively shaped their learning and behavior, gearing them up for adulthood.

It is this level of dedication and commitment in helping others that makes Mr. Jassal a stand-out figure. He has devoted his life to providing life skills to people of all ages. What makes him different is that he embodies the values behind volunteering in the community and wants to share these experiences, especially with the next generation. They are the future, and Mr. Jassal continues to mentor them and to provide avenues of education and qualification that many are not yet aware of. These selfless acts in pursuit of creating a better nation propel Jas to continue working as a volunteer, engaging with different communities in promoting the values he so deeply cares about.

Outside of football, Mr. Jassal has supported many charities through fundraising and awareness campaigns. These include British Airways Flying Start, a partnership with Comic Relief, where he has helped mentor young apprentices to organise fundraising football tournaments and encouraged colleague engagement through delivering road-shows. He recently supported a national campaign to increase Asian bone marrow donors on the stem-cell register. Recruitment drives organised by the Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Trust, Delete Blood Cancer, Jaskomal and Rik Basra Foundations and Sunny Bains, father of Gaurav Bains, lead to a 1200% increase in Asian donors on the bone marrow register.

International Peace Day took place on September 21st; Mr. Jassal supported the organisation's global football campaign 'One Day One Goal' helping to raise much needed awareness of promoting peace across the world by using the power of football to bring nations and communities together. His strong network at grassroots allowed many football matches to be dedicated to peace day.

Having been a volunteer for more than ten years, Mr. Jassal is still as excited about volunteering today as he was all those years ago. If it's to do with grass roots or charity, Mr. Jassal is the first to lend his support. He is widely respected and acknowledged amongst his peers at the charities and trusts for his passion and dedication. He is also a champion for Include Me Too, a charitable organization that is focused on raising awareness of disability within the BME community, and providing support.

Mr. Jassal is currently developing a project involving hundreds of community coaches aiming to deliver social education and development to the under-privileged in third world countries. Delivery targets include developing and empowering youth leaders to help inspire others and provide sustainability.

Mr. Jassal has been awarded a number of honours, including the British Empire Medal, selection to be the Olympic Torchbearer in 2012, and the title of FA Volunteer of the Year in 2012 for Middlesex County and region of London. He was also named British Airways Flying Start Volunteer of the Year 2012, and a recipient of the British Airways Community Award in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011.

Mr. Jassal is passionate about his community, volunteering, inclusion, education and development, having spent ten years championing best practices. He uses sport as the vehicle to deliver education and development, which empowers young people to become role models and leaders within their own community. They can then go on to inspire others.
