    CHICAGO, IL, March 12, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Jean Andre Jones Crawford with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Crawford celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. Retired clinical therapist Ms. Crawford enjoyed a very rewarding career for over four decades. Working in a variety of settings and specializing in child and adolescent therapy, she spent many of those years employed with the Chicago Board of Education. Teaching primary and special education for the first five years between 1966 and 1971, she continued her education and later began her career in counseling, where she remained until retirement in 2006.

Earning her undergraduate degree at Carthage College in 1966, Ms. Crawford counseled juvenile first offenders within the school system for 20 years. Going back to school to complete a Master of Education in guidance and counseling at Loyola University, she graduated in 1971 and also began "working with" maladjusted children and their families in the same school district for 17 years until 1988. Becoming a post-secondary vocational counselor in the school system for several more years, by 1993, Ms. Crawford had transitioned to working in the Cook County Department of Corrections Alternative High School as a teacher transition coordinator. Enjoying the experience, one year later, she moved on to serve as a clinical counselor at St. Mary of Nazareth Hospital Center, Adolescent Partial Hospital, in Chicago for another 11 years.

A licensed professional counselor in the states of Michigan and Illinois, Ms. Crawford is also a certified school counselor by the National Board of Certified Counselors, is certified in elementary education, special education, and pupil personnel service in the state of Illinois, and is a trauma and loss specialist in children. In addition to her two degrees, Ms. Crawford also completed postgraduate work at the National College of Education in Evanston, IL, as well as Northwestern University.

A former member of several reputable professional organizations, including the Council for Exceptional Children, Phi Delta Kappa, the Illinois Mental Health Counselors Association, and the American Mental Health Counselors Association, Ms. Crawford was also lively in her local community. She was a volunteer for Station WTTV-TV, volunteered as a counselor of deaf and hearing impaired children, served on the community development board of the New City YMCA, and served on the scholarship committee of the Chicago Urban League. Married to her longtime husband John N. Crawford Jr. for 25 years until his passing, Ms. Crawford has been cited in more than 30 editions of Who's Who, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare and Who's Who in American Women.
