Jeron Awarded GSA and MedAssets Contract Renewals for Nurse Call

Jeron nurse call system contracts have been renewed by both the Government Services Agency (GSA) and MedAssets, a GPO serving the needs of over 3,000 hospitals. They are in force through 2013 and 2014 respectively.

CHICAGO, IL, March 03, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Today Ericka Baran, Vice President-Marketing at Jeron Electronic Systems, announced that the company has been awarded at IT Schedule 70 contract extension by the General Services Administration. The extension covers a five-year period that began on February 21, 2013.

The GSA is the U.S. Government Services Agency whose mission is to provide authorized government agencies with solutions to help improve efficiency, sustainability, and transparency in operations. As holder of an IT Schedule 70 contract, Jeron nurse call systems have the backing and trust of the U.S. government for agencies that require highly efficient, reliable, and cost-saving systems. The continuum of Provider 680 and 790 nurse call platforms are available through the GSA contract.

The initial GSA contract was awarded to Jeron, a Chicago-based manufacturer of nurse call communication systems for healthcare facilities, in 2003. This is the second renewal of the GSA contract for Jeron and first time that the contract includes an Economic Price Adjustment (EPA).

EPAs were first introduced by the GSA in 2002 to provide more contractor pricing flexibility, and according to Baran, it's a win-win for Jeron and its GSA customers. According to Ericka Baran, Jeron's Vice-President of Marketing, "The GSA contract process has become much more flexible over the years allowing us to offer the most current products and options through GSA."

On February 15, 2013, the contract for Provider 790 and Jeron's full line of nurse call products was renewed by MedAssets, a Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) serving the needs of 3,000 hospitals and over 100,000 non-acute healthcare providers. Jeron has been a certified supplier to MedAssets since 2010.

"We've worked hard to earn and keep these contracts," stated Baran, "and we expect that our industry-leading VoIP-based Provider 790 nurse call system with its flexibility, economy and reliability benefits - will make our participation even more valuable to these important networks."
