LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA, March 21, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jo Anne W. Norris has been included in Marquis Who's Who. A certified school counselor, Ms. Norris has amassed more than two decades of experience serving districts throughout Pennsylvania. She began her career upon receiving a Bachelor of Science in education, with a focus on communicative disorders, from West Chester University in 1981. From there, Ms. Norris briefly worked as an office manager at the Holy Family Church in Newark, Del., before joining the University of Delaware as a staff assistant in 1988. During this time, she completed a Master of Education in school counseling, which she received through the university in 1992.
Drawing upon her prior experience and academic background in counseling and education, Ms. Norris accepted a position as an intervention specialist with the Lancaster School District in 2002. She remained with the district until 2006, when she joined the Columbia Boro School District as a school counselor. Since 2009, Ms. Norris has also served the district as a curriculum leader of K-12 special education. She is currently recognized as a school counselor in Pennsylvania and Maryland, as well as a licensed professional counselor and national counselor in Pennsylvania. In an effort to remain abreast of developments in her field, Ms. Norris maintains membership with the Columbia Education Association, Pennsylvania State Education Association, National Education Association, Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development, and American School of Counselors Education. Additionally, she is an outstanding member of the University of Delaware chapter of Kappa Delta Pi, an honor she received in 1993.
Throughout the course of her career, Ms. Norris has been continually recognized for her commitment to school counseling and special education. She has been featured in a wide variety of honors publications, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the East and Who's Who in the World. In addition, she was published in the 7th and 8th editions of Who's Who in American Education, as well as the 27th and 28th editions of Who's Who of American Women.
