/Cambridge Who's Who/ - Franklin, TX, July 16, 2008, Joan Baldwin-Schechter, Artist, Teacher, Owner of Coloring Books and Paintings, has been recognized by
Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in her artistic endeavors.
With an impressive 22 years of experience as an artist and teacher, Ms. Baldwin-Schechter is now the Owner of Coloring Books and Paintings, an art studio that provides educational books, portraits, landscapes and commissioned work, as well as customized porcelain dolls. Additionally, Ms. Baldwin-Schechter is skilled in oil and pastel painting and creating custom jewelry. Ms. Baldwin-Schechter feels that the most rewarding aspect of her career is that she enjoys her work.
Ms. Baldwin-Schechter began honing her craft at a very early age—as soon as she could hold a pencil, in fact. She spent many hours learning art from her aunt, who was an accomplished artist. At age 11, she started taking private music lessons and continued for eight years; at the same time, she painted murals and other commissions. At the age of 19, she studied the organ with John Pech from Austria. She has seen the famous art museums of Europe: the Louvre in Paris, the Rikes in Switzerland and museums in the Austria, Holland, Venice, Turkey and Egypt. Ms. Baldwin-Schechter has completed coursework in portraiture, video production and doll making. She is a member of Robertson County Artists.
