Ms. Hawes has 50 years of experience in the healthcare field. Ms. Hawes oversees and authorizes cases domestically and internationally. Prior to joining ACM, Ms. Hawes worked in critical care research at Eli Lilly and Company's U.S. Division. With the death of her father when she was 12, Ms. Hawes knew that a career in healthcare and the possibility of preventing others from suffering heart disease was her goal. Her first love was cardiology; during those years she co-wrote a cookbook, "Recipes from the Heart," and at the same time worked with chefs and restaurant owners to indicate on their menus a heart healthy choice.

Ms. Hawes received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing with a Minor in Management from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College in 1980. She completed coursework in cardiac concepts at Francis Payne Bolton School of Nursing in Cleveland, Ohio. She graduated from St. John's General Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh in 1958. She is a member of the Case Managers Association of Indianapolis, Sigma Theta Tau and the Autistic Association of Indianapolis.
