Joanne C. Kostecky, APLD, Recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for Excellence in Landscape Design

    ALLENTOWN, PENNSYLVANIA, March 28, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Joanne C. Kostecky, APLD, President of Joanne Kostecky Garden Design, Inc., has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in landscape design.

Ms. Kostecky is an award-winning landscape designer whose work has been recognized by her clients and professional peers over the course of a triumphant career that has spanned more than 34 years. Her designs have been featured in local, national and international magazines and pictures of several of her gardens appeared in "Perennials," a coffee table book published by Rodale Press. In 2007, she became the first woman president of the American Nursery and Landscape Association in its 132-year history. Ms. Kostecky has been a featured speaker at Pennsylvania Landscape and Nursery Association/Penn State's Winter Nursery Conference, Perennial Plant Association's International Symposium, American Nursery and Landscape Association Management Clinic, Landscape Ontario, Mid Atlantic Hardy Plant Society, Iowa Landscape and Nursery Association, Region II Garden Writers Meeting at the Philadelphia Flower Show, The Garden Writers Association National Symposium, The Ohio Short Course at CENTS in Columbus, Ohio as well as a variety of other regional green industry conferences.

Awards with which Ms. Kostecky has been honored are numerous and include: the American Nursery and Landscape Association Hall of Fame Award from the American Nursery and Landscape Association (2005), the Hall of Fame Award from the Pennsylvania Landscape and Nursery Association (2005), the Community Spotlight Award from the Eastern Pennsylvania Business Journal (2004), Pennsylvania's Best 50 Women in Business Award from the State of Pennsylvania's Department of Community and Economic Development (2000), and Working Woman Magazine's Entrepreneurial Excellence Award (2000). Ms. Kostecky was also named New Member of the Year by the Lehigh Valley Builders Association (1999) and a Woman of Distinction by the Great Valley Girl Scout Council (1994). Lastly, she was recognized by the Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce in 1999 with an Excellence in Business Award.

Ms. Kostecky's design work has been singled out by the Pennsylvania Landscape and Nursery Association with 37 Gold Awards of Excellence in Landscape Design Awards, 25 Silver Awards of Excellence in Landscape Design Awards, 14 Bronze Awards of Excellence in Landscape Design Awards, and Eight Honorable Mentions of Excellence in Landscape Design Awards. She was also awarded by The Association of Professional Landscape Designers with three Gold Awards for Residential Landscape Design, Six Silver Awards for Residential and Commercial Landscape Design, and three Bronze Awards for Residential Landscape Design Projects. The Perennial Plant Association honored Ms. Kostecky with Five Honor Awards for Landscape Design Excellence and 27 Meritorious Awards for Landscape Design Excellence. The Lehigh Valley Builder's Association's recognized her with 17 Excellence in Landscape Design Awards. Lastly, she accrued four First Place Awards for City and Streetscape Landscaping Design and a First Place Award for Retaining Wall and Patio Landscaping Design from the Concrete Stone and Title Excellence in Landscape Design Awards.
At her current post, Ms. Kostecky oversees operations and meets with clients to discuss designs. She also visits job sites, markets her services, and ensures stallar customer service. She has refined a sophisticated skill set in the creation of beautiful and lush landscape designs for residential and commercial customers. She is a member of the Pennsylvania Landscape and Nursery Association, American Society of Association Executives, Association of Professional Landscape Designers, National Landscape Association, American Nursery and Landscape Association, Perennial Plant Association and Commercial Real Estate Executive Women. Additionally, she Public Commissioner for the Certified Association Executive Accreditation of the American Society of Association Executives based in Washington, D.C, and as a liaison for the European Landscape Contractors Association. She is a Past First Woman President of The American Nursery and Landscape Association and Past President of the Junior League of Lehigh Valley, Inc.
