/24-7PressRelease/ - CULVER CITY, CA, January 28, 2008 - Joe Mantegna will host his 8th annual golf invitation tournament on June 30 to benefit Home Ownership Made Easy (H.O.M.E.), a nonprofit 501c(3) organization serving the needs of the developmentally disabled community by providing affordable rental and ownership housing. The celebrity tournament will take place at MountainGate Country Club in Los Angeles. Celebrity friends joining Joe Mantegna on the Golf Committee include Don Cheadle, Tom Dreesen, Dennis Farina, Dennis Franz, Andy Garcia, Thomas Gibson, Ron Perlman, Joe Pesci, and Gary Sinise. The golf tournament will be immediately followed by a reception and awards dinner.

"As a father of special needs child, I understand the hopes and barriers that developmentally disabled adults face when they seek the opportunity to live independently," cited Joe Mantegna. "Each year over 150 developmentally disabled people receive the support they need to live independent lives through H.O.M.E.'s programs. Without the support of individuals and community businesses, H.O.M.E. could not serve so many people encompassing children, families and seniors."

Since 1987, H.O.M.E., a non-profit low-income housing agency, has provided safe and affordable housing for individuals and their families with developmental disabilities. H.O.M.E. purchases property with funds it raises each year and makes those properties available at an affordable cost for the disabled.

"Joe Mantegna has been a long-standing supporter of H.O.M.E. and understands through personal experiences the importance of educating and empowering developmentally disabled adults to live independent lives," stated David Silva, executive director, H.O.M.E. "Joe's annual golf tournament raises over 10% of the annual budget for H.O.M.E. and is one of the premiere charity events in Los Angeles."

H.O.M.E. partners with the California Affordable Housing Institute and the Northern California Housing Alliance along with support from numerous corporations.

For information about participating in the tournament please call Laura Gordon at H.O.M.E. 310-258-4031 or visit our website at http://www.homechoices.org.
