/24-7PressRelease/ - San Antonio, TX, July 30, 2008, John Andrew Elizondo, Community Relations Specialist for The Center for Health Care Services, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of community services.

With more than eight years experience in the mental health field, Mr. Elizondo excels in writing and communicating with people. He is partly responsible for managing public relations for The Center. He became involved in his profession because he wanted to advocate on behalf of the mentally ill, and he contributes his success to the support he receives from his family. He considers assisting in the review of a one-half billion dollar bond project for Bexar County to be his greatest professional accomplishment.

Mr. Elizondo holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from The University of Texas at San Antonio. He served as a member of The Behavioral Health Network and Planning Advisory Committee to The Center since its inception in 2001. He also served as a member of The City of San Antonio Transportation Advisory Board and the Bexar County Hidalgo Foundation. The most important issue facing his profession is the need to convince governing bodies and taxing entities to fully fund health care programs for the mentally ill, mentally retarded, and substance-abuse challenged. He stays current with the trends in his profession by conducting research and networking. He hopes to serve in an elected government position and play a role in the policy-making process in the future.
