Mr. McBride is a leader in the city of Lafayette as both a partner with the law firm of Ball Eggleston, PC and a leader in everything from health services to the arts. His services as a lawyer include individual and family estate planning, estate administration, trusts, general business and partnership law, as well as municipal corporation law. Mr. McBride runs the gamut of legal services, and was included in the 22nd, 23rd, and 24th editions of The Best Lawyers in America for Trusts and Estates.

Born in Cincinnati to Leland Dale and Mary Huggins McBride, Mr. McBride matriculated at Denison University in Ohio and earned a JD from the University of Cincinnati School of Law. He went on to serve with the first iteration of his firm in 1968, Ball Eggleston Bumbleburg, in Lafayette. He became a partner with the renamed Ball Eggleston firm in 1971, and has remained with the company in the years that followed. Mr. McBride was inducted into the Order of the Coif upon his graduation from the University of Cincinnati, and has continued to excel in his field. From 1992 to 1993, he served as president of the Tippecanoe County Bar Association.

In the civic sphere of Lafayette, Mr. McBride has been a welcome presence as a board member, president (1983), and campaign chair (1989) for the United Way of Greater Lafayette from 1980 to 1989. Since 1980, he has served as a board member and secretary treasurer with the Lafayette Union Railway Company. In the '90s, Mr. McBride was a board member of the Art Museum of Greater Lafayette, Bank One of Lafayette, Lafayette Home Hospital (Chairman 1992-93) and the Greater Lafayette Health Services through 2004 (Chairman 2002-04).

Mr. McBride led the Indiana Commission on Continuing Legal Education as chairman in 1997, and is a member of the American Bar Association, the Indiana Bar Association, and the Tippecanoe Bar Association. In the 2000s, Mr. McBride became a greater patron of the arts with leadership positions in the Lafayette Symphony Orchestra Foundation. He has performed a community humanitarian role as chairman of the North Central Health Services Inc., and still serves as a board member.

For legal and civic services to the city of Lafayette, Mr. McBride was selected for inclusion in seven volumes of Who's Who in America, three volumes of Who's Who in American Law, and two volumes of Who's Who in the Midwest in 2015 and 2016. He married Prella Philips McBride in 1966, with whom he has three children, John Scott, Daniel Philips, and Rebecca M. Klepser. Mr. McBride enjoys travel, tennis, reading, and numismatics, or coin collecting.
