John Lewis Introduces 'Survive The Sale'

During the sale period, John Lewis are providing sales assistants to help shoppers with their buying decisions and guide them through the sales.

BRIGHTON, ENGLAND, December 14, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- John Lewis style advisors combat classic sale shopping pitfalls.

Navigating the January sales can inspire ripples of anxiety, but help is at hand as John Lewis comes to the rescue with a complimentary crash course in successful sales shopping. The department store's expert fashion advisors will host 'Survive the Sale' appointments and be on hand to help customers select the most wearable and desirable sales pieces that will enhance their wardrobes - for a snippet of the price.

John Lewis Fashion Advisor, KirstyTye, says: "Sale shopping needs to be strategic - you need to think about what is going to stand the test of time and enhance your existing wardrobe. We encourage women to approach the sales with a wish list of investment pieces such as a wool blend coat, a tuxedo jacket or a pair of timeless brogues. That way you can immediately take a more focussed approach. During our 'Survive the Sale' appointments, we will be guiding women to consider their body shapes and their personal style - not just the ticket price!"

John Lewis Fashion Advisor, Kirsty Tye'sTop Tips for Surviving the Sale:

1. Before you hit the shops, go through your wardrobe to see if you're missing any key pieces, like a classic tailored blazer or a pair of winter boots.

2. Make a list of things you feel you need, so as not to splurge on impulse buys in the sales. For example, if you've been dreaming of a great leather biker jacket, the sale is the time to buy one.

3. Make sure you only buy things that suit your style and fit properly. In the sales, size and fit is vital. It is pointless buying something simply because it has been reduced.

4. Invest in great accessories. Sales offer the perfect opportunity to invest in some really great jewellery or a classic leather tote.

5. Arrive early to get the best sale buys and look out for price matching offers online to get the best bargains.

Clearance across fashion, electrics, home and technology starts online from 24th December at 5pm and in store from 27th December.

'Survive the Sale' appointments are available in John Lewis stores from 27th December-10th January. To book an appointment at your nearest John Lewis department store, please visit www.johnlewis.com.
