/24-7PressRelease/ - Edinburg, TX, September 7, 2008, Jose Luis Silva Regional Manager for Oro Agri, Inc. has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of pest management.

With more than 34 years of professional experience, Mr. Silva specializes in pest management as well as plant nutrition. At his current post, he is responsible for developing sales in Southwest US, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Jamaica. He is also responsible for enhancing soil and plant nutrition as well as growing citrus fruits and vegetables. Born to a family of migrant workers, he learned many different agricultural approaches and thus became involved in his profession. Prior to joining Oro Agri, Inc. Mr. Silva worked for Advanced Microbial Solutions for three years working with soil microbes to better plant production. He also worked for Wilbur Ellis Company as Mexico Sales Coordinator for seven years then headed West to join Western Farm Service as General Manager for Mexico. He considers receiving the Pest Control Advisor of the Year Award from the California Agricultural Production Consultants Association in 1986 to be his greatest professional accomplishment. The keys to his success? Persistence, experience and an unrelenting desire to learn.

He has been married to his lovely wife Maria for 34 years and has two wonderful daughters. Martha Magali Flores and her husband Robert own several very successful businesses. His younger daughter, Lillian Flores (husband Jose Flores) is currently a paralegal and working for a law firm in South Texas. Both daughters live within a few miles of their parents, allowing them to enjoy their seven wonderful grand kids.

Mr. Silva attended the University of California, Irvine as well as Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, CA. With a degree in Agriculture he then went on to obtain his pest control advisor license from the states of California, Arizona, New Mexico as well as his Certified Crop Advisor license for both Texas and Arizona. He plans to take the International Crop Advisor Exam in 2009 to fulfill Certified Crop Advisor requirement internationally. He is the former president of the Southern California Association of Pest Control Advisors and is a current member of the California Agricultural Production Consultants Association. In the future, Mr. Silva aspires to practice organic farming on the 33 acres of land he purchased three years ago. He is currently completing the organic farming certification program through the Texas Department of Agriculture.
