Joseph D. Adamo Builds Excellent Standing in Woodworking and Contracting Industry

Mr. Adamo has refined his skills as a craftsman after spending more than three decades shaping his career. As the owner of J. Adamo Contracting and Custom Woodwork, he showcases his well-honed expertise in custom woodworking with fine trim, and his particular specialty in the design and building of furniture. Mr. Adamo also performs general contracting services and creates and installs custom wall units and bedroom sets. He designs and remodels homes, and gives his clients the beautiful kitchens and bathrooms that he feels they deserve.

Mr. Adamo began working in the woodworking and contracting sector as an apprentice in Massapequa Park, Long Island, N.Y. He was taught the trade by S.P. Bruno — a man who would become his best friend and a part of the family. However, Mr. Adamo also embarked on another career path, beginning as a courier for CBS News on a part-time basis at the tender age of 18. During what became a rewarding 19-year tenure with CBS, Mr. Adamo was assigned to reporters and camera crews that covered news events and was responsible for bringing film to broadcast centers in time for airing. He earned a plaque for his role in the station's coverage of NASA's moon landing. Upon moving to New Jersey, he established J. Adamo Contracting and Custom Woodwork as a full-time business. Mr. Adamo feels that his greatest achievement, thus far, has been building his own home, with his own hands, alone. In the future, he plans to expand his horizons and pursue larger commercial projects.
