Dr. Strecker has been endorsed by Marquis Who's Who as a leader in the music industry

EUREKA, KS, September 07, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to name Judy Ellen Strecker, DMA, a Lifetime Achiever. An accomplished listee, Dr. Strecker celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Dr. Strecker is a retired musical educator, celebrated organist, and an inspiration as both a musician and a leader in her community. The highlight in her career was directing the community choir at Frank Phillips College in Texas, which was invited to perform twice at Carnegie Hall on a Mexican Riviera Cruise, forging a life-changing experience for the performing students. Dr. Strecker currently teaches part time with the Butler Community College in El Dorado, Kansas, where she can share her expertise in music theory and piano performance with eager young minds.

Born to Robert Joseph and Tressie Eulala Gibson, Dr. Strecker was inspired greatly by both her parents, especially her father, who was a jazz clarinet and saxophone player during the Big Band era of the '40s. She attended Incarnate Word College in Texas to earn a Bachelor's degree in Music in 1965, and earned a Master's degree from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, in 1971. That year, Dr. Strecker joined Incarnate Word College in San Antonio as Chair of the Music Department and served for five years. In 1976, she was named a fellow of the Eastman School of Music, and with its support she earned a DMA from the University of Colorado.

Dr. Strecker joined the St. Alphonus Church in Greenwell Springs, Louisiana, as a music director in 1985. Two years later, she was appointed chair of the music department of St. Mary of the Plains College in Dodge City, Kansas. In 1992, Dr. Strecker was welcomed by the Frank Phillips College in Borger, Texas. Dr. Strecker was always good with people, and attributes her success to delivering the highest standards of excellence and quality for her department.

Additionally, Dr. Strecker has served with the National Guild of Piano Teachers as an adjudicator since 1990. She played the organ for the First Methodist Church in Pampa, Texas from 1992 to 1994, volunteered with churches in the Borger area, and served as regional director of the Texas Junior Colleges Choral Festival in San Antonio. Dr. Strecker is a member of the American College of Musicians, the Texas Association of Music Schools, and the Texas Music Educators Association.

Dr. Strecker served as chair of the music department and full time faculty member with Frank Phillips for 18 years. She produced the albums "Afternoon of Jazz" and wrote a number of compositions, retiring in 2008. Not long after, a devastating fire completely destroyed her home in Texas and she relocated to Kansas. Despite the tragic turn of events, she has returned to teaching, and is proud of her work with students.

For her dedication to music and many years of service in education, Dr. Strecker was honored with a 1998 NISOD Excellence Award from the University of Texas in Austin. She was selected for inclusion in five volumes of Who's Who in America from 2005 to 2012, the 2006 to 2007 volume of Who's Who of American Women, and the 2006 to 2007 volume of Who's Who in American Education. She is married to Dr. Jerome John Strecker, a marriage and family therapist.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to her profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Dr. Strecker has been featured on the Marquis Who's Who Lifetime Achievers website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
