Julia E. Benton, RN, CCRC, Recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for Excellence in Nursing

    ALTOONA, PA, February 28, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Julia E. Benton, Coordinator and Site Manager of the Clinical Research Department for Blair Medical Associates, Inc., has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in nursing.

For Ms. Benton, pursuing a career in nursing was never a question; she had wanted to be a nurse since the fifth grade. Today, with nearly four decades of professional experience, she specializes in clinical research. Ms. Benton brings her experience and expertise to the role of coordinator and site manager for Blair Medical Asssociates, Inc. She is tasked with overseeing five coordinators for clinical research. Furthermore, Ms. Benton manages budgets, contracts, and correspondences with research monitors, sponsors and contract research organizations.

Ms. Benton has worked in this capacity since she started the clinical research department for Blair Medical Associates 12 years ago. When she first started, the department was comprised of just herself working part time three days a week. She has since developed the department to the extent that she works full time with eight employees in the department and a doctor to conduct studies. It now has the capability to conduct 20 clinical trials at a time. Ms. Benton attributes her success to her hard work, initiative, and her desire to learn more about clinical research.

Ms. Benton earned her designation as Registered Nurse in 1973 from Hartford Hospital School of Nursing. A member of the Association of Clinical Research Professionals, she has been an ACRP Certified Clinical Research Coordinator since 2004. Ms. Benton serves on the board of directors for Jason and Nordic Publishing's Turtle Books, which publishes books for children with special needs. Looking toward the future, she hopes to continue in her current capacity with Blair Medical Associates and its exceptional staff.
